Indigenous Meal kits
BNWC’s Indigenous Meal Kit program offered weekly recipes along with the ingredients needed to make them, in an effort to help people connect with their cultures and eat healthy. The recipes were inspired by pre-colonial Indigenous diets, mainly made-up of ingredients found in the Americas prior to European contact. This program was made possible by a generous grant of $10,000 from First Nations Development Institute.
The Indigenous Meal Kit program aimed to distribute 5,000 pounds of food before September, 2024. BNWC successfully reached the goal, distributing 5,400 pounds of food by July 25th, 2024, ahead of the projected deadline. This achievement, and the positive community feedback throughout the project, highlighted our commitment to supporting the health and well-being of our community.
This program ended on Thursday, July 25th, 2024.
