Food is medicine.

BNWC’s Indigenous Meal Kit program offers weekly recipes along with the ingredients needed to make them, in an effort to help people connect with their cultures and eat healthy. The recipes are inspired by pre-colonial Indigenous diets, mainly made-up of ingredients found in the Americas prior to European contact. This program was made possible by a generous grant from First Nations Development Institute.

The Indigenous Meal Kit program aims to distribute 5,000 pounds of food before September, 2024 – and we are on track, having distributed 2,531 pounds as of 4/29/2024. This achievement highlights our commitment to supporting the health and well-being of our community.

Meal kits are available to pick-up from our center every Thursday, starting at 9 am. The meal kits are free and there are no eligibility requirement to receive one – they are available to anyone.
